Oryx Automatic Parser Generator automatically generates an integratedscanner/parser system based on high-level BNF grammar description of thetext input language. It permits high-quality readers to be created forcomplex input languages with a minimal amount of programmer effort.The Oryx BNF grammar files require no embedded action code, making themcompletely reusable and application-independent. The parsed input isaccessed through a procedural interface to an abstract syntax tree, witha number of options for highly-efficient tree memory management. Thisresults in reader implementations that are much cleaner and morereliable, with lower development and maintenance costs.The fully integrated scanner has the unique ability to automaticallyadapt scanner behavior depending on parser state, making grammars fordifficult languages much easier to write.
